How do I get started with Stagewell AI?
After downloading the app, complete the brief onboarding to set up your wellness profile. Grant permissions for HealthKit, notifications, and location to get the most personalized experience.
What is Guardian Mode and how does it work?
Guardian Mode helps you focus on 3-5 daily anchors (key habits) that form your foundation. It restructures your home screen to prioritize these essentials while moving other features to "Explore."
How does the AI coaching work and is my data private?
Our AI coaches use your wellness context to provide personalized guidance. By default, data is processed securely through our cloud services (OpenAI/Anthropic). You can switch to local-only privacy mode in Settings > AI Coach for complete on-device processing.
Can I use the app without an internet connection?
Most wellness tools work offline, including mood tracking, journaling, and habit management. AI coaching requires an internet connection unless you're using local privacy mode with LM Studio.
How do I sync my data across devices?
Your data automatically syncs across all your devices through iCloud when you're signed in with the same Apple ID. You can manage sync settings in iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
What integrations are supported?
Stagewell AI integrates with Apple Health (steps, heart rate, sleep, mindfulness), Apple Watch, Calendar (for stress prediction), and Weather (for mood forecasting). All integrations require permission and can be managed in Settings.

Troubleshooting

App Performance Issues

  • Force close the app and restart it
  • Ensure you have the latest version from the App Store
  • Restart your device if the app continues to lag
  • Free up device storage (app requires at least 1GB available)

Sync Problems

  • Check that you're signed into iCloud on all devices
  • Verify network connection is stable
  • Go to Settings > Sync and tap "Force Sync Now"
  • Sign out and back into iCloud if issues persist

AI Coach Not Responding

  • Check your internet connection
  • Verify AI service is enabled in Settings > AI Coach
  • Try switching AI service provider if using custom setup
  • Restart the app to refresh AI connection

HealthKit Data Not Syncing

  • Open iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Stagewell AI
  • Ensure all relevant permissions are enabled
  • Open Apple Health app to trigger sync
  • Restart both Stagewell AI and Health apps

Apple Watch Issues

  • Ensure watch app is installed via Apple Watch app
  • Check that both devices have good connectivity
  • Verify watch is connected and within range of iPhone
  • Restart both iPhone and Apple Watch if sync fails
